LRA Strategy Released & Upcoming Tour!

Hello Invisible Children at FIU members!

We wanted to give you a very important update on the LRA strategy that President Obama released. This is a monumental leap towards ending the misery for civilians in Central East Africa and seeing the children still held captive return home. WE made it a LAW to pursue Kony!

The main objectives:

a) increase protection of civilians; b) apprehend or remove from the battlefield Joseph Kony and senior commanders; c) promote the defection, disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration of remaining LRA fighters; d) increase humanitarian access and provide continued relief to affected communities.

We hope you all are having a great Fall semester! We are contacting you today to be informed of our upcoming meeting that will be held on Sunday, November 7 at 1PM at UM (2nd floor of the UC: Iron Arrow Room #233 ). For those interested, we will becarpooling from FIU at 12PM (meeting in front of the MMC Bookstore). This meeting is important because we will be discussing information about legislation and organizing our December fundraiser (need a lot of help!). We hope to see you there!

Hello!
We want to THANK everyone who came out yesterday and those who could not make it but were somehow involved in its success! I will be posting up a video soon with a snippet of the guest speakers from Uganda.

I hope you can join us next week, Tuesday (Oct.12) at 2PM to meet with Bill Nelson’s representative. We need to make sure Obama comes up with a great strategy for the disarmament of the LRA.

REMEMBER: If WE don’t make this happen, NO ONE will because the people in northern Uganda have NO VOICE! Come out and help, YOU COUNT!
